It’s that time of year again race fans! Start your training early for your shot to stand atop the podium at the 2012 Rio Bravo Rumble presented by Glinn & Giordano Physical Therapy. Competitive and non-competitive runners and riders from all over the area will converge on the pristine, private land of Rio Bravo Ranch to navigate the specialized course and claim their right to course supremacy. Whether you’re aiming for first place, attempting to top your best time or simply want to have fun, this is the event for you. Best of all, all proceeds will benefit:

Pre-reg packet pick up: Friday, January 13th 3-6 PM at Glinn and Giordano Physical Therapy, 2701 Calloway Drive #400, Bakersfield, CA 93312 (Major crossroad Rosedale Highway) Timing chips will be distributed in the race packets and you will be charged a $20 fee if you do not return the timing chip.

Biathlon Male or Female – Under 39 years of age.

TEAM BIATHLON 10k run then 16 mi mtn bike - Cost $70

Biathlon Mixed Team – Combined age of 77 or under.

** Expert Level option for Solo mountain bike event only. This adds about one mile to the normal course and serious steep climbing up and down.

KIDS RACE - Cost $FREE

The kids’ race is a fun event for the young competitors. At approximately 12:00pm, youth riders navigate a specialized short version of the competition course. This is a run/bike event. All kids are encouraged to participate. This has become a highlight of the event every year and was covered by Time Magazine in 2011 for a feature on getting children involved in running/cycling events as a means to build healthy lifestyles. Two races are available: older kids and younger kids. Each course varies in length and difficulty.
